Hi there! I am Tonya and I am a small town girl at heart. Growing up I always thought the big city called. But, I am proud to say that Grand Forks has become the home I never knew I was missing out on. Born and raised in the North Okanagan, I moved to Central Alberta as a teenager, where I married my husband, had twins and had a salon in Sylvan Lake for over 12 years. The economic downturn gave us this incredible opportunity to move here when my husband found work with GFCU.

 

After only 8 months of living here, I made the leap and opened Shear Beauty so I could offer the type of atmosphere I feel people are missing. My goal is to give you the personable, relaxed atmosphere where you can sit back, relax and just enjoy all that I have to offer. My greatest joy is seeing my client enjoying the freedom of having a cut that not only fits their face and lifestyle, but also takes no time out of their morning routine.

On weekends I love to kick back and relax by hanging out with my husband, Gerald, and our three cats. Our twin boys graduated High School in June 2018. One is living and working in Technology in Kelowna, and the other is working for an internet security company out of Vancouver.  Although I miss having them around, adjusting to an empty nest and all that comes with it, has been a wonderful experience.

 

I love the sun and outdoors and have been learning to garden, which is something I now wish I had taken an interest when my mom was trying to teach me. If you have a great places for me to add to my "must visit" list, I am all ears. I can't wait to exchange stories and hear how many pets you have.
